Through it comes to us from Idaho, Ambassador was originally introduced in the 1930’s from Poland. Ambassador sets crops of 1 1/4″ nuts that have a thin shell and are well sealed. Plump, light-colored kernels, feature excellent flavor and texture. Young trees set heavy crops. A patented variety, Ambassador is self-fertile and though heat tolerant, it needs about 600 chill hours to produce.
