GEO Super Silent Extreme CR1218X2-SSE Commercial Calcium Reactor

$ 90.11

The Super Silent Extreme CR1218x2 SSE will hold 150 pounds of large grain media and is suitable for reef aquariums up to 2000-4000 gallons.  This is our modular design that allows for expansion of up to 3 additional 1218 chambers.  Each 1218 chamber will support 2,000 gallons of reef.  The Secondary chamber SMC836 shown in picture one is not included in the base price.  The SMC836 will hold 75 pounds of small grain media. These SSE reactors are designed to run similar to a traditional Classic GEO reactor but the main difference is that there is no external bubble counter and the Co2 saturation into water is completed inside the Co2 chamber and not throughout the reactor and pump.  There is no chopping up of Co2 bubbles which causes loud noise and pump airlocks. There will be no major accumulation of gasses  inside the main chamber or under the lid.  As water passes through the saturation chamber Co2 is immediately dissolved into the water and VERY little gas is wasted ( 95% saturation compared to 55% of the Classic models).  The bio balls located in the saturation chamber help to slow down the water flow in order to give adequate dwell time for saturation and an abundance of surface area that micro bubbles of co2 can rest on.  As water passes the surface area with excess co2 it slowly dissolves adding stability to the internal pH after Co2 is shut off.  The most important aspect of this commercial reactor is the ability to handle high effluent rates up to 500 mlpm while providing over 35 dkh of alkalinity. The input and output fittings are 3/8″ to accommodate the higher flow rates. About the Recirculating Pump Do not underestimate this extremely energy efficient smart pump based on its size and low replacement cost. During operation it is slightly warm to the touch and has over a 3.5 year continuous run rating. Some of its smart features include “Debris Jam Protection” stoping the impeller from being damaged and “Dry Run Protection” to keep the pump from over heating if there is no water in its housing. The materials in constructing this pump are designed for alkaline environments and are resistant to salt corrosion making this pump well suited for the extreme water conditions of a calcium reactor. The low gallons per hour on this smart pump is intentionally programed for two reasons: 1. so not pull gaseous Co2 down through the saturation chamber into the main reactor chamber giving time for super saturation and 2. to actually allow sediment to accumulate on the bottom of the main chamber so not to be pulled back through the closed loop of the reactor damaging the pump impeller and possibly clogging the effluent tube line. Thousands of hours of real world experience led to choosing this smart and efficient pump.  When you receive your new reactor make sure to look for the SMART Card attached to the body for quick set up instructions and videos.   How to Videos Download Instructions Replacement Parts Warranty
